


ArmInfo. Disclosure of the 2008 March 1 events will be one of priorities of the Prosecutor General's Office. Deputy Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan who is a candidate for the Prosecutor General's position made such statement in the Parliament on September 13 in response to the question by Secretary of the Armenian National Congress Faction Aram Manukyan.
Davtyan said the former prosecutor general Gevorg Kostanyan used some procedural mechanisms to ensure further efficiency of the investigation. It has not been stopped.
"The 2008 March 1 case as one of the most important cases the public is concerned about will be a priority for me. I will be paying high importance to disclosure of the event and informing the public of the process," he said adding that he did not study the materials of the case on his previous post. To recall, the anti-governmental demonstration after the presidential election in 2008 claimed 10 lives. The case has not been disclosed and no one has faced punishment for the deaths.
