HAY DAT condemns Trump administration`s intention to circumvent  sanctions against Baku

ArmInfo. The Hay Dat Committee condemned the signal from the US President Donald Trump's administration of its intention to circumvent the decision to impose sanctions against Baku, which would pave the way for continued American aid to Azerbaijan. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF).

Aram Ambaryan, Executive Director of the American Hay Dat Committee,  noted that President Trump thus continues to ignore his "America  First" promise, greenlighting foreign aid to Azerbaijan and funneling  American taxpayer money to an oil-rich "genocidal dictatorship."  "This is a regime that holds Armenians hostage, seizes Armenian  territory, destroys Christian churches, and prevents the return of  those forcibly displaced from Artsakh. The ruling Aliyev family in  Azerbaijan, whose wealth amounts to tens of billions of dollars,  neither needs nor deserves the generosity of the American people,"  Ambaryan noted.

Furthermore, according to the source, Hay Dat supported the ARMENIA  Security Partnership Act, introduced by Congressmen Gus Bilirakis  (R-FL) and Frank Pallone (D-NJ). "The bill prohibits the president  from evading these sanctions until Azerbaijan withdraws its forces  from Armenian territory, releases all Armenian prisoners of war,  ceases hostile actions against Armenia, and recognizes the right of  return of Armenians forcibly displaced from Artsakh," the statement  reads.
