Government to allocate AMD 5.6 bln to ensure  continued  implementation of kindergarten construction programs in  regions

ArmInfo. By a decision adopted at today's government meeting, capital expenditures of approximately 5.6 billion drams have been reallocated in the 2026 state budget to ensure the continuous implementation of kindergarten  construction and renovation programs in the regions of the country.

The financial allocations will be directed toward the capital repairs  and reconstruction of 61 kindergartens.  Specifically, plans include  completing the construction of 35 kindergartens, initiating repairs  on an additional 8, and conducting supplementary work in 18  kindergartens that have already been built or renovated.

According to Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports  Zhanna Andreasyan, the majority of the allocated funds will be used  for the construction of kindergartens currently in the final stages.  Funding will also be provided to newly launched programs, as well as  to kindergartens where the main work has been completed but  additional work is needed. Additionally, funds will be allocated for  the purchase of technical inspection services for eight additional  kindergartens, as well as for measurements and the development of  design and estimate documentation. The project also provides funding  for consulting, training, and design services under the School  Building Safety Improvement Grant Program, implemented with the  support of the Japan Foundation for a Prosperous and Resilient Asia  and the Pacific.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that  the allocated funds will help complete the improvement work not only  of the kindergarten buildings but also of the surrounding areas,  ensuring a comprehensive outcome.

The funding package covers dozens of kindergartens in the Aragatsotn,  Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Shirak, Syunik, Vayots  Dzor, and Tavush regions of the country. Part of the funds is  allocated to pay off outstanding contracts and funds needed for  courtyard improvements, while the rest will finance the start of  construction and additional work on existing facilities.

To fully complete the construction of kindergartens, additional  funding of approximately 8.2 billion drams is required, of which 5.6  billion drams will be allocated by the decision adopted today, with  the remaining amount to be allocated as needed during the  implementation of the program.
