
ArmInfo. The leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, has been charged with another crime - illegal hunting. This is according to a statement from the RA Investigative Committee.
According to the agency's press service, during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case opened by the RA Investigative Committee on illegal hunting of wild animals and birds, 190 stuffed animals and birds were seized from a private home belonging to G. Ts., and these were deemed material evidence. In addition, three live lions and one tiger were seized and handed over to the Yerevan Zoo. The remaining animals kept in G.Ts.'s private home are planned to be confiscated and handed over to the responsible authorities in the coming days.
"The illegal hunting resulted in damage to the environment in the amount of 30 million drams. The preliminary investigation into the criminal case is ongoing," the Investigative Committee stated.
As a reminder, on July 6, Prosperous Armenia Party leader and businessman Gagik Tsarukyan was detained and brought before the Investigative Committee of Armenia. He is accused of organizing fraud and money laundering on an especially large scale. According to investigators, between 2022 and 2024, a group operating under his leadership, under the pretext of developing trade and economic ties between Armenia and Iran, created joint legal entities with the participation of Iranian citizens, after which they carried out a fraudulent scheme, causing damages totaling over $21 million.
