
ArmInfo. A delegation led by Artur Yeroyan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, participated in a meeting of the Executive Academic Council of the European Security and Defence College on June 10-11 at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Yeroyan presented the reforms being implemented in military education and training as part of the transformation of the Armenian army.
Arsen Mangasaryan, Head of the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy of the Ministry of Defense, and Tigran Harutyunyan, Coordinator of Cooperation between the Armenian Ministry of Defense and NATO and the EU in Military Education, also spoke. Representatives of the Executive Academic Board of the European College of Security and Defence praised the reforms being implemented at the military educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation, particularly within the framework of the EU's Erasmus Defense Program (EMILYO). The proposal of the National Defense Research University of the Ministry of Defense and the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy to join the College as an associate partner was approved and submitted to the College's Steering Committee for approval.
During their visit to Brussels, the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia met with Piers Cazalet, Director of the Defence and Security Cooperation Directorate, at NATO Headquarters to discuss current programs and prospects for cooperation in the defense sector.
