Interior Ministry, Human Rights Defender`s Office report on election  hotlines  and  violations 

ArmInfo.  The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Armenia and the Human Rights Defender's (Ombudsman) Office have released updates regarding calls received and violations recorded during the parliamentary elections.

According to the MIA, as of 2:00 PM on June 7, a total of 29 messages  were received via the 112 emergency line and the 87-67 hotline.  "Six  cases of double voting and five cases of violating the secrecy of the  ballot have been registered, with the relevant documents forwarded to  the investigative body. Six individuals have been detained.   Additionally, 121 reports of alleged legal violations are currently  undergoing verification. Election-related publications in the press  and on social media are also being reviewed," the Ministry stated.

The Ministry further reported on the activities of the MIA Migration  and Citizenship Service:  1,326 individuals applied to be included in  supplemental voter lists.  752 individuals received temporary  identity documents issued by municipalities to enable voting.  The  Service's dedicated call center (84-22) handled 820 inquiries  regarding the organization and execution of the elections.  316  citizens received direct consultations at the regional departments of  the Migration and Citizenship Service and via mobile MIA service  centers.

Meanwhile, the Ombudsman's Office announced that as of 3:00 PM on  election day, its dedicated hotline had received 59 calls concerning  human rights issues within the electoral process. Fifteen matters  falling strictly within the Defender's jurisdiction were successfully  resolved with the Ombudsman's support, while the remaining inquiries  fell outside the office's mandate.  Additionally, staff from the  Ombudsman's Office reviewed 170 publications across mass media and  social media platforms during this period.

"The notifications received primarily concerned the absence of  personal data from voter registries, voting procedures, the  accessibility of polling stations, the exercise of electoral rights  by persons with disabilities, and the voting rights of individuals  undergoing inpatient medical treatment. Queries also covered the  voting rights of citizens registered in other municipalities or  lacking any permanent registration, as well as matters relating to  criminal proceedings initiated during the day.  Citizens were  provided with comprehensive consultations, and where necessary,  immediate clarifications were requested from the competent  authorities," the statement concluded.

The Human Rights Defender's staff continues to monitor issues related  to the protection of human rights during the electoral process.  Complaints and notifications regarding electoral rights can be sent  to the Defender by calling the hotline at 116 or (096) 116 100.  Issues registered during the day will be summarized and reviewed in  accordance with the established procedure.
