ArmInfo. Speaking at a campaign rally in Sevan, former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan accused the current administration of deliberately injecting "poison, lies, and falsifications" into the upcoming parliamentary election campaign. Kocharyan, who leads the opposition "Armenia" alliance, claimed the government is attempting to replicate its 2018 tactics by actively sowing public discord and hatred.
Meanwhile, as the second President noted, the current authorities have prepared for Armenia the fate of Ukraine and Georgia under Saakashvili "I have said many times that this is very detrimental to the country, and no one can provide a rational answer to the question of why this is necessary," Robert Kocharyan said. He added that the country's leadership has managed to drive Armenia into the middle of a conflict between Russia and the European Union, and the results of this policy are already visible. Continuing this trajectory will lead to the destruction of agriculture, affecting hundreds of thousands of people. "Why? Just so Nikol can cling to power?" the politician questioned, noting that discussions regarding potential Russian gas price hikes are already underway.
Robert Kocharyan urged to look at modern Georgia, where citizens, fed up with Saakashvili's policies, rejected attempts to open a second front against Russia, thereby avoiding many problems. "The adventurer surrendered Artsakh, then said he was wrong, and faced no consequences whatsoever," the second president of Armenia emphasized. He also recalled that under his rule, state fines amounted to 3.5 billion drams, whereas under Pashinyan, they have reached 28 billion drams. "He only tries to rip off as much as possible to inflict greater damage on the country's citizens. In short, Armenia has only one problem, and its name is Nikol Pashinyan," Robert Kocharyan noted.
