ArmInfo. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has issued a reminder that members of three-tier election commissions are strictly prohibited from organizing or conducting election campaigns.
According to the CEC, while the Electoral Code does not forbid election commission members from holding political party membership, those who have been appointed to serve on a commission are legally barred from organizing or participating in election campaigns in any capacity, including on social media platforms.
"Election commission members are required to remove all campaign-related posts from their personal social media pages," the official statement reads. Note, this reminder follows earlier reports indicating that a group of election commission members had been participating in the election campaign of the ruling "Civil Contract" party, in direct breach of the law.
