


ArmInfo.The leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party and businessman, Gagik Tsarukyan, has filed a lawsuit against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Tsarukyan is demanding a public apology for remarks labeling him a "foreign agent," as well as total compensation exceeding 9 million drams.
According to data published on datalex.am, the plaintiff, represented by Tsarukyan, is seeking a court order to compel the defendant, Nikol Pashinyan, to publicly retract defamatory statements within five business days of the judgment taking legal effect. The statements in question were made by the Prime Minister during a briefing on May 28. Specifically, Pashinyan allegedly characterized Tsarukyan as a "criminal," a "spy," an "agent," someone who has "entered into a criminal deal," a person "robbing the people of Armenia," and someone who "included Andranik Tevanyan on the 'Prosperous Armenia' list at the behest of a foreign intelligence service."
The plaintiff is requesting 6 million drams in damages resulting from defamation, alongside a court mandate for the defendant to issue a public apology to Tsarukyan within five business days of the ruling.
Furthermore, the businessman's defense asks the court to award the defendant, Pashinyan, 3 million drams in compensation for damages caused by the defamation, as well as the previously paid state fee of 310,000 drams and a reasonable attorney's fee.
