Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss the outcomes of the May 29 Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Summit in Astana. According to the Kremlin press service, Putin also extended his birthday congratulations to Pashinyan during the call.
Meanwhile, according to the Armenian government press service, Putin congratulated Pashinyan on his birthday and sent his best wishes. Pashinyan, in turn, thanked the Russian president for the call and congratulations. "The interlocutors also exchanged views on current issues on the bilateral and multilateral agendas. The Armenian Prime Minister thanked the Russian President for his balanced stance, friendly tone, and support on several controversial issues. The two sides agreed to continue their discussions at the next convenient opportunity in a meeting format," the Armenian government's statement reads.
