ArmInfo. The leaders of the three-headed war party - Samvel Karapetyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Gagik Tsarukyan - have no connection to the Armenian Apostolic Church, but are using it for their own interests. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan shares a similar view.
Speaking at a briefing on May 22, the prime minister expressed confidence that they don't even know the difference between the Holy Scriptures and the Psalms. Pashinyan assured that he himself had once memorized the Holy Scriptures. "And even Ktrich Nersisyan (Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II - ed.), who apparently sloppily recited two-thirds of the Holy Scriptures, leaves a deep impression on these people," the prime minister noted.
Overall, Pashinyan praised the campaign, noting the emotional upsurge of citizens observed in 2018.
"Back then, we called our revolution a velvet revolution. Today, we can talk about a revolution of children, who have become the main source of energy, which is highly symbolic and compelling," the head of government said.
Answering a question about his state during the events of 2020, Pashinyan pointed to emotions. "I think that the events of 2020 were accompanied by emotions, which is quite understandable. Probably for the first time in my entire adult life, I stopped praying daily after November 8, 2020. After that, I fasted for a long time. I did not eat bread or drink water for a week. If you are asking about my emotions, then they were exactly that. But then I began to reflect on what happened and why. And I realized, of course, not right away, that Armenia found itself in a trap due to the Karabakh movement, and it was necessary to get out of this trap," the prime minister said. Pashinyan emphasized that he was glad and proud that he managed to lead Armenia out of this trap. "Emotions are already connected with something else - I see that today some specific people, guided by the logic of espionage, want to return Armenia to the trap of conflict again. That's the whole story. I am surprised - is there really a person for Whose issues aren't emotional? If such a person exists, I wouldn't be surprised if it's someone like Robert Kocharyan, who has no emotions. I think emotions will gradually recover in prison. Yes, I'm an emotional person-is that news to you? Wasn't I emotional when I was an opposition member of parliament and a journalist? A person without emotions is either a plank or a brick. Unfortunately, in the political arena, we see such blunt instruments being used by various forces," the prime minister stated.
