119 buildings and structures dismantled on 42 plots of land on Lake  Sevan - RA Prosecutor`s Office

ArmInfo.  119 buildings and structures have been dismantled on 42 plots of land on Lake Sevan. The dismantling of illegal structures continues based on petitions from the Prosecutor's Office, according to a statement from the  supervisory body.

According to the source, on December 11, 2025, the Prosecutor's  Office announced the start of the dismantling of illegally  constructed buildings and structures on plots of land below the  absolute elevation on the shore of Lake Sevan. The Prosecutor's  Office also announced that the demolition of illegal structures will  continue into 2026.

In March 2026, based on petitions from the Prosecutor's Office, 16  more structures located on 11 land plots were demolished, including  fences and a ramp adjacent to a private home de facto owned by former  RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan (the Prosecutor's Office filed a  lawsuit in a competent court regarding the private home), as well as  a private home de facto owned by the son of former Speaker of the  National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Samvel Nikoyan.

On February 24, 2026, a cottage illegally built by Armen Ashotyan,  the brother of former RA Minister of Education and Science, on a plot  below the absolute size mark, was demolished, as was a cottage  illegally built by Karen Grigoryan, the son of former Gegharkunik  Province Governor Rafik Grigoryan. Notably, these cottages were built  on plots of land to which the developers did not even have a  leasehold. On February 2, 2026, the Prosecutor's Office reported that  the fence, concrete retaining walls, ramp, and other structures  located below the absolute elevation of the "Sevan" mansion,  illegally built by former RA Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan, had  been dismantled. (The Prosecutor's Office, in its lawsuit for the  confiscation of illegally acquired property, is also demanding the  confiscation of this mansion from Vladimir Gasparyan and his  associates.)

Following an investigation conducted by the Department for the  Protection of State Interests of the Prosecutor General's Office and  the Gegharkunik Regional Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of  their authority to initiate proceedings for the protection of state  interests, reports of the crime were sent to investigative bodies,  and a criminal case was opened.
