ArmInfo. Residents of the village of Zorakan in the Noyemberyan community of Tavush Province did not complain about their daily life or social conditions; their only concern was Armenia's future. Narek Karapetyan, a member of the political council of the Strong Armenia party, wrote this on his Facebook page after meeting with village residents as part of the party's election campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia on June 7.
He noted that from the very first minute, the meeting veered beyond the usual, because, as Karapetyan explained, people were asking: "What needs to be done to live in a strong country? Is this weakness no longer acceptable to us?" "The villagers set a condition: not to disappoint them. It was surprising and impressive: not a word about personal problems, but only a vision of strengthening the country," the party council member noted.
According to Karapetyan, everything became clear to them once they realized who their interlocutors were. He explained that residents of the legendary Artsakh village of Chardakhlu had settled in Zorakan. "The spirit of the homeland of marshals and heroes lives on here today. This is a village of blue-eyed, strong people," Karapetyan noted.
He recalled that Zorakan is famous for its delicious peaches. However, according to the party council member, despite the village having approximately 700 hectares of land, only 100 hectares are cultivated. "And despite the high-quality harvest, there are no organized procurement systems in the village. As a result, the villagers are forced to sell their harvest on the side of the interstate highway," Karapetyan concluded.
