


ArmInfo.The 79th Cannes Film Festival will present a special program dedicated to the outstanding Armenian director of feature and documentary films, Artavazd Peleshyan, as reported by the Armenian Assembly Foundation.
According to the source, the program, titled "Peleschian Project", will be presented in the Cannes Classics section. The program is dedicated to the work of the legendary Armenian director and master of distance editing, Artavazd Peleshyan, who will be present in Cannes. The program includes restored versions of five of his landmark documentaries: "Earth of People" (1966), "The Beginning" (1967), "We" (1969), "Inhabitants" (1970), and "Seasons of the Year" (1975).
Pelechian's admirers include Francis Ford Coppola and Jean-Luc Godard. His films have been screened at major cultural venues, from New York's MoMA to festivals in Berlin and Venice, and his "distance editing" is studied at most film schools worldwide.
