ArmInfo. The Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall will host the final gala concert of the Francophonie Bimonthly Festival, featuring the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia.
The evening's centerstage belongs to Rodion Shchedrin's iconic "Carmen Suite," a vibrant reimagining of Georges Bizet's masterpiece. The program will also feature beloved works by Sarasate, Faure, and Ravel.
Belgian Armenian violinist Hrayr Karapetyan will perform as soloist. Ralph Szigeti, invited from France, will conduct the concert. In addition to the opening concert, the National Center of Chamber Music also held several other concerts as part of the Francophonie Bimonth, including a joint concert by the State Chamber Choir of Armenia and Robert Amirkhanyan dedicated to the memory of Armenian poet, French Resistance participant, and French national hero Misak Manouchian; a concert by the State Chamber Choir of Armenia, "Eternal Melodies of Aznavour," dedicated to the great chansonnier Charles Aznavour; a joint concert by the State Chamber Choir "Hover" and students of the Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas; and concerts by the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia in Yerevan and Vanadzor, featuring works by prominent French composers. The concert, which will take place on April 30 at 19:30, is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, in partnership with the National Center for Chamber Music, the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, the Embassy of France in the Republic of Armenia and the French Institute in Armenia.
