Armenia proposes modular housing for socially vulnerable families

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has presented a new initiative to provide rapid-response housing for the country's most vulnerable citizens.  The proposal, currently open for public discussion on e-draft.am,  introduces the use of modular houses as a temporary solution for  families facing acute housing instability.

The draft proposes to legally define the concept of a  "modular  house" as temporary, quick to assemble, and mobile units. A unified  system will be launched to process applications, verify data,  assess  eligibility and ensure that help reaches those in genuine need. The  system will also establish the procedure, deadlines, and contractual  framework for the provision of modular homes.

This initiative will enable the prompt and effective provision of  temporary housing in situations requiring an urgent response.
