ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Court hearing for the case of former RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan, scheduled for April 13, has been postponed due to the absence of his lawyers.
Presiding Judge Tigran Davtyan noted that the court had received motions from the defense. Lawyers Anna Mantashyan and Erik Aleksanyan stated that they would be unable to attend due to workloads from other hearings. Furthermore, lawyer Yerem Sargsyan verbally informed the court of his poor health. In this situation, the defendant, Aghvan Hovsepyan, stated that the hearing could not take place without his lawyers.
In this regard, Judge Tigran Davtyan pointed out the defense's disrespectful attitude toward the court, as the date and time of the hearing had been agreed upon by all parties.
The next court hearing is scheduled for May 14 at 9:30 AM.
As a reminder, Aghvan Hovsepyan, who served as the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia from March 18, 2004 to September 13, 2013, and as the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia from July 18, 2014 to June 11, 2018, was actively engaged in entrepreneurial activity, despite having no right to do so.
