A March of Peace, Unity and Solidarity will be held in Yerevan on 2 September at the initiative of Yeritasardutyun NGO (Youth NGO), Head of the Organization Gevorg Mkrtchyan told reporters, on 30 August.

He said the March will start from the Liberty Square at 6:30pm and head towards St. Sargis Church where a liturgy will be served in memory of the Armenian soldiers that sacrificed their lives on the Line of Contact with the Azerbaijani troops. 
"The March will once again demonstrate that the Armenian people can struggle against internal and external challenges by combined efforts," he said. He said the event will promote the public- army relations, condemn crimes against humanity, particularly the massacre of Yazidis and other Christian minorities in Iraq. 

He said the event is organized with the support of the Defense Ministry of Armenia and the Armenian Apostolic Church. The March will involve also representatives of the public and government sectors, peacekeepers and the music orchestra of the Defense Ministry, and the youth religious organizations. Archbishop Navasard Kochoyan of the Ararat Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church will serve the liturgy in memory of the Armenian martyrs.  Mkrtchyan urges everyone to join the March to demonstrate the external and internal enemies that the Armenian people unite irrespective of their political views, gender and age, when the security of Armenia and Artsakh is endangered.

 Azerbaijan has transferred Armenian military serviceman Hakob Injighulyan to a third country. This information has been confirmed by the Yerevan Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross.    

 The impression is that Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian visited Turkey for the sake of appearance, Armenian publicist Sargis Hatspanyan said at today's press conference in Yerevan. He considers Edward Nalbandian's participation in Turkish president's swearing-in ceremony to be a diplomatic mistake.

 The second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, is not optimistic about the prospects of final settlement of the Karabakh conflict. 

 Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian attended Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's swearing-in ceremony on 28 August. High-ranking delegations from several dozens of countries attended the ceremony.

 It is not clear so far how much Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union will affect the country's regional economy [commodity turnover with Iran and Georgia], Robert Kocharyan, the second president of Armenia, says in an interview with Noyan Tapan.  

Assessing the current economic situation in the country, Robert Kocharyan said that there are neither internal nor external reasons for optimistic assessment so far. "In addition, new global threats have emerged, and their effects are yet to be assessed. How will the West's sanctions against Russia affect the global economy, Russia's economy? Will they increase sanctions? It is not clear so far how much Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union will affect the country's regional economy [commodity turnover with Iran and Georgia]. And finally, is the single customs area technologically possible amid the West's sanctions against Russia. There are either no answers to these questions, or there are just suppositions. This means that we have entered a phase of negative anticipations," the politician said.

 Beeline telecommunication operator of Armenia has announced price-cutting for the fixed-line communication subscribers starting 1 September 2014. The new tariffs will automatically apply to all the subscribers of Beeline fixed-line network in Armenia. According to the company's press-service, all the outgoing calls to the Beeline fixed-line network will cost 5 AMD per minute (inclusive of VAT) after the expiry of the package of free minutes. 

The California Senate-adopted Resolution - AJR 32 encouraging Artsakh's (Nagorno Karabakh) continuing efforts to develop as a free and independent nation is the result of the tension along the Line of Contact between Karabakh and Azeri troops, Stepan Safaryan, Head of the Armenian Institute for International and Security Affairs, said at today's press conference in Yerevan.

The statement came from the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan in an interview with Noyan Tapan.
