ArmInfo. Edmon Marukyan, leader of the Bright Armenia party, has accused the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of manipulating vote tallies and omitting his party's votes across multiple polling stations. As evidence, Marukyan presented vote count protocols from several locations within Armenia's Gegharkunik region.
According to Marukyan, official local protocols indicate that Bright Armenia received two votes at polling station 2/21, six votes at 2/17, three votes at both 2/29 and 2/33, four votes at 2/32, and one vote each at stations 2/14, 2/15, and 2/24. However, the party leader highlighted that the CEC website registered zero votes for Bright Armenia at all of these locations.
"These are results from small villages. Whether it is one person or six, they went out and voted for our political force. Yet, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had our results listed as zero on the Central Electoral Commission's official page," Marukyan wrote on his Facebook page, alongside copies of the precinct protocols. "I say Pashinyan did this because this entire system belongs to the government." Marukyan clarified that he is not claiming these missing votes alone cost his party its seats in parliament. Instead, he argued that the issue points to a broader, systemic pattern. "This is a matter of national importance. They acted similarly across 2,000 polling stations. This was done primarily to project the false impression that we received negligible support, and secondly, to strip us of state funding—ensuring that only the government's proxy forces have access to the state budget."
The Bright Armenia leader warned that an authoritarian system is being established in the country, under which Pashinyan is paving the way for a third term. He drew parallels to the elections under Armenia's second and third presidents, which were frequently marred by allegations of fraud. "It is the exact same system; he is essentially doing the same thing. Everyone involved must be held accountable—from the members of the regional precinct commissions and the CEC chair to Pashinyan himself," Marukyan concluded.
